What is an AI Unit?
An AI Unit represents one unit of AI processing. Generating a SOAP note uses ~40 units, creating an exercise program uses ~30 units, and patient messages use ~5 units each. A typical patient averages ~120 units across all interactions. You pay as you go – no monthly commitment.
Do unused units roll over?
Yes. Unused AI Units roll over for up to 3 months, so quieter periods don't mean wasted spend. Your balance is always visible in your dashboard.
How does RTM billing work with PAYG?
RTM is a flat $35/patient add-on billed per billing period. Zera automatically tracks engagement and generates CPT 98975–98981 documentation. Medicare reimburses ~$190 per patient on average, so your net margin is ~$155 per RTM patient. RTM costs are separate from your documentation AI Units.
